This year's Super Bowl broadcast included more than a few trailers for some highly-anticipated blockbusters - including Solo: A Star Wars Story, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and The Avengers: Infinity War - but one film sadly absent from the event was Deadpool 2. The Merc With The Mouth's sequel has not yet released a full official trailer, and Fox decided that the big game was not the place to do it. Still, the lovable character was still at least in action during the event, specifically live Tweeting the whole thing.
The official Deadpool Movie Twitter account was active throughout all of Superbowl LII, and used various during the game to make some jokes in the spirit of the anti-hero's sense of humor. Self-effacing jokes about his own horrible looks are a big part of Deadpool's playbook, but he also isn't above leaving an awful taste in your mouth:
As you would expect, some actual events from the game inspired a few of the messages:
But the account also took the opportunity to explore Deadpool's wide-ranging sexuality:
If you're like me then you're bummed that Deadpool 2 didn't do a lot more with the Super Bowl... but it just means that we all need to exercise some more patience. The first real trailer for the blockbuster will get here soon enough, ready to showcase some real footage of the feature before its theatrical release on May 18th. It's without question one of our staff's most anticipated movies of the year, and as soon as we get to see more from the film we will be sure to share it with all of you!
